Management of Canon McMillan’s facilities is a very extensive responsibility.  The array of buildings, equipment, and grounds is spread across the entire school district at nine primary locations, up to twelve miles apart.  The maintenance and repair effort is centered at the Support Building.  The Facilities Department office is located in the Support Building at 186 Boone Ave. Strabane, PA 15363.

To handle the tasks described above, the department has Sixty-Four (64) employees.  These are organized into two primary groups, custodians and maintenance persons.  The custodial group is made up of Fifty-Seven (50) custodians and Seven (7) Substitute custodian employees.  The maintenance department consists of Nine (9) regular maintenance staff. 
          .  The department is managed by Mr. Jurdon Maier Director of Facilities.

            The following is a list of physical plant maintained by the Facilities Department.

  • One Administration building
  • One building Support Center(Transportation/Facilities dept)
  • Approximately 1,000,000 Interior Square Feet
  • A Lighted Stadium With Track And Artificial Turf
  • Two Full-Size Competition Swimming Pool(Middle & High Schools)
  • 13 Playing Fields
  • 4 Tennis Courts(High School Location)
  • Total District Property Managed - 120 Acres
  • Maintained Grounds Totaling Approximately  95 Acres
  • One Remote Site McDowell fields, Totaling Approximately 50 Acres
  • 24 Heating Boilers
  • 35 Rooftop HVAC Units
  • 18 Chillers
  • 20.5 Acres of Roofs
  • 12+ Acres of Paved Parking Lots

In addition to cleaning and maintenance, the department also provides the following district wide services and/or leadership.
